Parable of the sower

The passage that struck my attention was on page 26 when Lauren began discussing the corruption of the world with the concept of change being the focal point. Things have gotten beyond destructive in her life that she believes that change has yet to occur as she cannot live a normal life. The concept of change is a significant belief that Lauren has but I question if she even knows what change means when she says, "change is part of life, of existence, of the common wisdom. But I don't believe we're dealing with all that that means. We haven't even begun to deal with it" (26). The life in which she lives is not normal, so for her to state that she wants to live a normal life seems completely out of the ordinary given the time and state in which she lives under. Being restricted within a gated wall community doesn't allow for any growth or change, more so living in denial of reality as the world has become completely fucked up. Gazing back on how the past was isn't going to change anything and the failure to come to terms with how change occurs seems out of the question for society.
